Family business Neuner's receives sustainability seal of approval
With over 130 years of experience, the Tyrolean herbal experts Neuner's are pioneers in sustainability and have recently been awarded the GREEN BRANDS Award. The seal proves that Neuner's demonstrably makes a significant contribution to protecting the climate, the environment, nature, biodiversity and the conservation of resources.Neuner's sustainability strategy
As a traditional family business, Neuner's sets a clear example of transparency and sustainability and treats aspects such as the protection of nature and sustainable business with the highest priority. “Our primary goal of the internal sustainability strategy is to continually question and improve the systems that already exist. In this way, production processes, energy use and resource conservation are constantly being improved,” explains managing director Stephanie Neuner, who is the fifth generation to run the family business.
Accordingly, the packaging within the company was switched to sustainable materials. “We protect the herbs as best as possible from loss of quality with the special aroma protection packaging, but the entire packaging of Neuner's BIO herbal teas in the infusion bag no longer causes any plastic waste,” adds the herbal expert proudly. The aroma protection of the herbal teas is currently being optimized again, so that over three tons less paper will be used in the future. The energy in the house is produced using a photovoltaic system and the raw materials used will be climate-neutral by 2030. “We are very pleased about the honor, as an internationally recognized and tested seal, such as the GREEN BRANDS Award, confirms that we bring our sustainability work to life honestly and authentically,” says Stephanie Neuner happily. The GREEN BRANDS seal of quality
On November 29, 2022, the GREEN BRANDS organization presented the GREEN BRANDS Award to Austrian companies for the sixth time. The GREEN BRAND seal of quality is highly recognized nationally and internationally and represents brands' commitment to sustainability, climate protection and ecological responsibility. The special thing about the Green Brand Awards is that you cannot apply for them, but rather are nominated through market research or jury suggestions. A detailed validation is then carried out by an independent consulting company. If all criteria are met, the jury, as the third instance, has the final say. The GREEN BRANDS quality seal is valid for two years and can be revalidated after this period has expired.
